MIRKO SIGNORILE & HIKARI ICHIHARA
JAPAN TOUR

November 7 Miyazu Royal Hotel
3 stages h 17 / h 20 / h 21

November 8 Sakai City Museum
h 18,30

The Italian Jazz Awards winner pianist Mirko Signorile and one of the most notable personality of Japanese jazz musical scene, the trumpeter Hikari Ichihara, will play together for the first time for a short tour in Japan in the town of Miyazu and Sakai.

Two different musical worlds coming together: the one, poetic and surrealistic of the pianist and the other, sharp and at times hard-bop of the trumpeter, with a repertoire that is a tribute to cinema soundtrack, in particular to the Italian cinema. The tracks of Morricone, Ortolani, Rota, Trovaioli turn brand new in this duo’s hands; like a framework on which they build harmonic and melodic canvas where free and creative improvisation comes to life. The piano-trumpet set gives to the music its peculiar profundity.

The two artists share the wish to experience, through music, areas beyond the boundaries of gender, looking for a sound coming from tradition and goes towards contemporary.

The bet is to bring the fascinating beauty of Italian cinema melos, making them stand out from the images to which they naturally refer, decontextualising them so that they can live their own life.

The two concerts will take place on November the 7th at the Royal Hotel in Miyazu and November the 8th at the Sakai City Museum. The tour is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka and also sponsored by “Programmazione Puglia Sounds Export 2017” di REGIONE PUGLIA – FSC 2014/2020 – Patto per la Puglia - Investiamo nel vostro futuro.
